Kindy & Pre Primary Maths Incursion

Kindy & Pre Primary Maths Incursion

Last week, our students from Kindy and Pre Primary took part in a special maths incursion. The students had an absolute ball as they moved from station to station and took part in a variety of fun and engaging mathematical activities from digging for bones and ordering them from longest to shortest, to fishing for numbers to the awesome bowling alley outside that focused on counting and basic addition.

Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day

We celebrated afternoon tea to recognise our Mother’s and Mother figures, never ending love and thoughtfulness. We rearranged our classroom to look like a café and shared food and drinks. The children presented their mothers with gifts and invited them to look at work in the classroom or play in the playground. A wonderful time was had by all.

Liturgy

Liturgy

We celebrated a liturgy in our classroom during term 3. We had been learning about Prayer for several weeks and our theme was ‘talking to Jesus’. The children were very brave and spoke on the microphone sharing the readings and prayers with the class, teachers, and parents. The children worked very hard to practice their favourite hymns. It was wonderful to hear the delightful singing accompanied by actions.

We are proud of our children and all that they achieve and share with them a great pride in our school.

Classroom Inquiry Learning

At St Jude’s we encourage students to integrate their learning and knowledge across curriculum areas throughout the classroom. In Pre-primary we participate in Investigation four times a week where our classroom is divided into eight learning spaces encouraging everyone to stretch their imagination and become an engaged learner. We begin each term by brainstorming things that interest us and new ideas we want to discover more about. Then our teachers weave our ideas together to form a classroom that allows us to discover curriculum content through our play. Look at the smiles on our faces and you can see that we love coming to school to learn.
