St Jude’s Catholic Primary School

Our Pastoral Committee is one of our most active committees as they work to promote the faith and regular social justice fundraisers throughout the year. Some of the activities that the Pastoral Committee have organised or planned for the year include:

• Project Compassion Walkathon
• Promoted LifeLink by creating an information video
• LifeLink Crazy Hair, Pyjama and Rice Day
• Colour ExplosionTM Run
• Rainbow Free Dress Day
• Mission Market
• St Vinnies Christmas Appeal
• Established the ‘Faithful Faces’ subcommittee
• Dramatising the Gospel Reading at Monday Afternoon Assembly

Our Communications Committee are responsible for organising, presenting and communicating information about some of our school gatherings throughout the year. Some of these activities include:

• School Assemblies (Setting up and presenting)
• Monday Afternoon Assemblies
• Greeting visitors to our school
• Communicating special events through our school newsletter
• Organising our Mercy Values and Gotcha Awards

Our Environmental Committee are responsible for ensuring that the environment at St Jude’s is looked after. In addition to this, the environmental committee are also responsible for the maintenance and roll out of our WasteWise initiatives throughout the school. Some of these activities include:

• Collection of paper recycling from classrooms
• Emptying compost bins
• Maintaining our Worm Farm
• Leading WasteWise initiatives in the school
• Presenting WasteWise facts at our Monday assemblies

Our Sports Committee assist with the organising and preparation involved with school sport and sporting events throughout the year. These include:

• Maintaining class sports equipment
• Maintaining and Organisation of the sports shed
• Organising factions at our school athletics carnival
• Sporting initiatives such as our lunch time games or lunch time tournaments
